ABOUT FOUNDER

Dr. K.R Ballal, doctor of general surgery and orthopaedics, professor at Kasturba Medical College Mangaluru, born to family of land lords, started his career after having completed his post graduate studies from KMC, went abroad to improve his skills, and learn from the health schemes of western countries, came back to his home town and set up a well-equipped nursing home, which has carved a name for itself over the 38 years of its existence. A man of great vision, confidence, extremely kind hearted and over powering personality, he grew in his profession and family business, expanding and succeeding in all.

The year 1993, brought about the inception of this institute with “School of nursing” soon to be followed by courses like Bachelors degree in nursing and physiotherapy. The institutions are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, since 1998.

Dr. K. R Ballal a man of virtues and principles, who believed in “Ahimsa” and whose purity of soul reflected in his smile, has engraved in this institution the right values and spirit, the right path that has put the institution on the road to success.

We have now an intake of 60 students in the nursing programs and an intake of 40 students for the physiotherapy program. Keeping in mind the practical clinical hands on experience required in this field, we have restricted our intake, to these numbers.

Masters program in both physiotherapy and nursing have been started since 2005, in various specialties of the subject.

ABOUT MANAGING TRUSTEE

Dr. Priya Ballal who is now heading these institutions as Managing Director and Trustee, is the daughter of our founder and believes in striving hard towards realizing the dreams of our founder‘s vision for this institute. Dr. Priya Ballal has completed her MD in obstetrics and gynecology in the year 2000 from Kasturba medical college Manipal University. She has a vast experience of 25 years as a doctor and also the professor in the department of Obstetrics and gynecology at Kasturba medical college Mangalore. since July 2015 she has a special skill in treating patients with humanness and professional efficiency. She also imparts knowledge to her students in the best way, leading good examples to the path of ethical practice. She has been awarded a distinguished alumni award by Kasturba medical college in the year 2010. Dr. Patrick Pinto memorial best teacher award in the year 2012. Good teacher award based on evaluation by students in the year 2013 and 2015. she has many research activities like publications, articles, poster presentations, scientific paper presentations in various national international conferences, seminars and workshops. She is also a member of Indian medical association, member of federation of Obstetrics and gynecology society of India, member of association of medical consultants Mangalore, member of hospital and Nursing home owners’ association Mangalore etc.
